Ok then…I’ve been sitting on these few lines for several weeks now wondering where they might lead. I need to throw it out there for some feedback, good or bad. Does this look like it will go anywhere? What feelings are evoked when you read this bit?

Maybe it just needs to percolate a bit longer…

Thoughts? Comments?

In the Image of God,
In the Image of Man

…God created man in his image, in the image of God he created them…

icons
images of the saints
in orderly lines
of godliness grace,
pale, gray plaster
lining the walls,
with pious eyes
offering ancient solace
and silence

    pale, gray plaster…

i can relate well to colour and texture, and this feels silent and cool to the feel.

  4. Sojourner says:

This made me think of a dicotamy between being saintly and pious and being human and falling short of glory within ourselves. The pale gray plaster and silence echos this thought as well. It makes me think of being called into relationship with Christ in order to be his flesh and blood body in the worlds and not to be pale gray silent plaster upon a church wall. These were powerful words for me and convicted me deep within my heart.

made me want to reach out and touch cool walls–what lies between is often art.

    lovely.
